Sports physical therapy that shows up for the team

Cleat treats athletes at three clinics and works with the clubs, schools and events they play for. Book one athlete, or ask us to cover your team.

Three clinics

Close to the fields you play on

One front desk number books any of them. Your therapist can see you at the clinic nearest your practice or your school.

For teams and schools

How a team works with us

An agreement with a club or school comes in three parts. Your athletic trainer or coach stays in charge of the team.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Before the season

We screen your athletes' movement at your facility or ours. Each athlete gets a plain summary, and your coach or trainer gets it too when the athlete or parent agrees.

  2. 02

    Step 2: During the season

A physical therapist at practices or games, by agreement, checks tape, sore spots and how an athlete is moving. For anything urgent, your emergency plan and 911 come first.

  3. 03

    Step 3: After an injury

The athlete comes to a clinic. We send the plan in writing to the family, and to your trainer with permission. Your physician and your league decide when an athlete plays.

A tournament weekend, covered

Ask us to cover a meet, a tournament or a camp. A physical therapist is on site to check tape, sore spots and movement, and to tell an athlete when to see a physician. The host arranges emergency medical services.

  • A single day or a full weekend

  • Club, school and league events

  • The request takes a few minutes and asks for no health details

Services

What we work on

Each page says what a visit looks like and when to see a physician first.

  • Rehab after an injury or surgery, built on what your sport asks of you.

  • A therapist watches you run, then fits the plan to your training.

  • School and club athletes, with a parent in the room and a plan the coach can follow.

  • Sore heels, knees, elbows and shoulders that built up over weeks of training.

  • Bike fit

A therapist checks how you sit, reach and pedal, and adjusts your bike with you.

Before you book

Do I need a referral?

In Alabama you can start without a referral, within the limits state law sets. Your plan may still ask for one. Call us with your plan card and we will check before you book.

Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?

We bill many kinds of plans, including most PPO plans, Medicare, Medicaid, military health coverage, workers' compensation and auto injury coverage. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your benefits and call you before your first visit.

Can you work with my coach or athletic trainer?

Yes, with your permission, or a parent's for a young athlete. We send the plan in writing and answer the trainer's questions.

How long is a visit, and who treats me?

Your first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist. Later visits can be shorter. A physical therapist assistant may guide your drills under your therapist's direction.

Do you treat young athletes?

Yes. A parent or guardian comes to the first visit. We write the plan so a coach can follow it.
