Questions people ask first
Do I need a referral?
In Alabama you can start without a referral, within the limits state law sets. Your plan may still ask for one. Call us with your plan card and we will check before you book.
Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?
We bill many kinds of plans, including most PPO plans, Medicare, Medicaid, military health coverage, workers' compensation and auto injury coverage. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your benefits and call you before your first visit.
What if I pay myself?
We give you a written estimate before your first visit, and you pay for each visit on the day. We do not bill your plan.
How long is a visit, and who treats me?
Your first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist. Later visits can be shorter. A physical therapist assistant may guide your drills under your therapist's direction.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on what your therapist finds, how your body responds, what your physician set and what your sport asks of you. Your therapist talks it through with you, and we do not promise a number.
What should I wear and bring?
Clothes and shoes you train in, your plan card, a photo ID, any brace or tape you use, and your doctor's or surgeon's instructions.
Will it hurt?
We work within what you can tolerate. Some movements and exercises can be uncomfortable. Tell us, and we change what we are doing.
Do you offer visits by video?
Some follow-up visits can be done by video for people in Alabama, where we are licensed. The first visit is in person.
Do you treat work or auto injuries?
Yes. If you were hurt in a crash or at work, get emergency care first. Tell us who your adjuster is. Your state decides who may direct your care.
Do you do dry needling?
Some of our physical therapists do, where Alabama law allows and after the training it requires. It is one tool among others. Your therapist explains what it involves, the risks and the choices before you decide.
